Picture Details

This is a picture of a Crannog, taken in March 2006. This Crannog is located at the Scottish Crannog Centre, at Kenmore on Loch Tay in Perthshire, Scotland.

Crannogs are ancient loch-dwellings which were used in Scotland about 5000 years ago. The Crannog in this picture is a unique reconstruction of an early Iron-Age loch-dwelling based on excavation evidence from Oakbank Crannog. It was built by the Scottish Trust for Underwater Archaeology.
