Picture Details

This is a small lochan situated at the side of the Jubilee Path leading up to the Fyrish Monument, in Ross-Shire, Scotland. The picture was taken in mid-January just as the sun was rising. It was a cold frosty day, and the lochan had a thin sheet of ice over the surface, which has caught the reflection of the sun.

This is one of 4 pictures I took that morning - there's a close up of the lochan, Fyrish in shadow, and Sunrise at Fyrish. I didn't really expect to take any pictures that morning - when I set off it was a pretty unspectacular day. One of the best things about Scotland - you NEVER know what the weather will give you!
