Picture Details
This photo was taken in early summer, and is of the Queen Mary 2 in the Cromarty Firth.
It was taken on the same morning as the photos of the Nigg and Cromarty souter - just an hour or so, after they were taken. Initially there had been heavy rain that morning, which cleared away. However, with the sun coming up, the haar (Scottish word for sea fog) came in. This photo really was a race against time - I didn't know what would happen first, the Queen Mary 2 come into the position I wanted her in, or the sun burn through the haar. As you can see from the photo the haar stayed just long enough for me to get the photo I wanted.
Yet another occasion where I have been very lucky with the Scottish weather!
