Picture Details
Robert the Bruce (1274 - 1329) was a heroic King of Scots. Despite many setbacks he secured Scotlands independence from England.
There are many incidents in Robert the Bruces life which we hear about today: the spider refusing to give up when weaving its web - and inspiring Bruce to continue his fight for Scottish independence. This ultimately led to Bruces greatest victories - that of Bannockburn in 1314 - which put him firmly in control of Scotland.
This is a picture of the Robert the Bruce statue standing just outside Stirling Castle, Stirling, Scotland.
