Picture Details
Stirling Castle was for centuries the favourite residence of many of Scotlands' kings and queens.
The magnificent Great Hall that was once the location of the royal court of James IV was restored by Historic Scotland in 1999.
This photo captures Stirling Castle just after heavy rain, as the sun is breaking throught he clouds. You can see the restored Great Hall in the beige/yellow contrasting with the older buildings.
